Welcome to my page, this is where you find a little about me!
I have been with Karen's cheerleading program since the beginning when my oldest daughter was in grade 4, that is five years, going into our sixth year! Karen was starting up a cheerleading program with Phoenix Gymnastics; they were called the Phoenix Flames. A few years later Karen started up her own cheer program, which we all know as Midnight Cheer Athletics. Almost all the girls from that Phoenix Flames Pee Wee team are still with Midnight Cheer.
At first I was a parent who occasionally helped out when needed; but as the program continued to grow it was evident that Karen would need more help with the administration part of cheer. I am now an employee of Midnight Cheer and look forward to our program growing even more each year!
I have two kids in the program, Madison who is now on the Senior Level 3 and Junior Level 3 teams and Owen, who is on the Youth Level 2 team. It took Karen two years to convince Owen to join the team; he knew all the dance moves and loved doing cartwheels and he was always at practice with me so it seemed a natural fit! And for him it has been three years! Madison didn't need convincing at all...she couldn't wait to cheer! My middle daughter Lainey isn't in cheer, as she is quite involved in softball. She is a huge supporter of cheer and comes to almost every single competition (unless at softball!) and cheers Midnight on. You can occasionally see my husband, Kenton, cheering on Midnight too, right up front!
I am still amazed at all the things that the kids can do; dance moves, remembering the choreography, jumps, backhandsprings, tucks and so much more. In front of hundreds of people cheering them on, which in itself amazes me that they are brave enough to do! The group of kids we have in our program are such hardworking, inspired athletes they deserve the best. They are the most determined group of kids who work at making each cheer season better than the last, and each year they succeed!
None of that would be possible if the kids didn't have families that supported them at Midnight Cheer. You are appreciated more than you will ever know!
These are the reasons why Karen worked so hard to find a gym space of our own. One that the kids could be proud of, display all the trophies they have won (and are going to win!) and be inspired to continue improving their tumbling skills and making their teams the best ever!
I am very proud to be a part of Midnight Cheer Athletics and look forward to meeting all the new families that join our program each year.
